Who we are

The App "Leben in Deutschland" is published by Schwarz Information Services.

Data stored on your device

The following is stored locally in the App's private storage and is never transmitted to us:

• Your selected Bundesland and explanation language preference.
• Per-question study progress: mastery level, attempt history, spaced-repetition schedule, day streak.
• Your Pro entitlement flag (whether the one-time upgrade was purchased).
• Onboarding completion status.

Uninstalling the App removes all of this data. The App disables Android auto-backup (android:allowBackup="false"), so this data is not copied to your Google account.

Advertising — Google AdMob

Free-tier users see banner ads served by Google AdMob. To serve relevant ads, Google and its partners may process:

• Device and advertising identifiers (e.g., the Android Advertising ID).
• Coarse location derived from IP address.
• Ad-interaction signals (impressions, taps).

We do not receive or store any of this data ourselves. See Google's policies:

Consent (EEA / UK / Switzerland)

Where required by the GDPR and related laws, the App presents a Google-certified consent prompt (Google User Messaging Platform / UMP) on first launch, before any ad is requested. You can review or change your choice at any time via Settings → Datenschutzeinstellungen (shown only where legally required).

If you do not consent, personalized ads are not served; the SDK falls back to non-personalized ads or no ads, depending on regional policy.

Purchasing Pro removes all ads; no advertising data is subsequently processed for your usage of the App.

Purchases — Google Play Billing

The "Pro" unlock is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Google handles the transaction and your payment details; we receive only an anonymous entitlement token, which we store locally to disable ads and lift limits. We do not store or have access to your payment information.

Analytics and crash reporting (optional)

If the App is built with a crash-monitoring integration (GlitchTip / Sentry), anonymised crash reports and breadcrumbs may be transmitted to a self-hosted instance. No personally identifiable information is included; screenshots and PII transmission are explicitly disabled. Crash reporting is a no-op when no DSN is configured in the build.

Children

The App is a study aid for an adult civics exam (German citizenship naturalisation test) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 16.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is no account to access or delete on our side. For data processed by Google for advertising and billing, please use:

• Your device's ad settings (reset or limit the advertising ID).
• Google Account privacy controls

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
